Profile notes

Fomapan R100 (ISO 100/21°) is a medium-speed panchromatically sensitized black-and-white reversal film made by Foma Bohemia, intended for creating monochrome slides and in-camera positive images. When processed using Foma's dedicated R-100 reversal kit — a multi-bath process including a first black-and-white developer, bleach, clearing bath, second exposure, second developer, and fixer — the film yields a positive transparent image on a clear polyester base, suitable for projection or contact printing. Fomapan R100 achieves very fine grain (RMS granularity ~13.0), high resolving power (~115 lp/mm), and elevated contrast compared to negative films, resulting in a broad tonal range from clean whites to deep blacks. An integrated anti-halation layer between the emulsion and base supports exceptional sharpness. The film is also used for 8mm and 16mm motion picture reversal applications. It can be processed in alternative reversal chemistries, but Foma recommends confirming actual speed via test exposures when using non-standard kits. Available exclusively in 135 (35mm) roll format for still photography; also available in cine formats.
