Lucky Film Company's SHD series (Super High Definition) has been produced since the early 2000s in conjunction with the company's Kodak-era infrastructure. The 'New SHD 100' revision (introduced 2017) features a thinner, near-transparent polyester base—replacing the previous acetate base—with an updated silver-halide emulsion that delivers fine grain, high resolving power, wide exposure latitude (roughly ISO 50–200), and improved humidity and temperature tolerance. The anti-halation layer was also improved over the original, though it remains less effective than Kodak or Ilford equivalents. Standard B&W chemistry (D-76 recommended; Rodinal also suitable). The 2017 version has not been consistently available outside China since 2019; as of 2024–2026, distribution has been sporadic.
