Profile notes

Berlin Kino 400 is Lomography's cinema-derived B&W film, introduced around 2018 with a revised Formula 2019 edition. The emulsion is widely identified as a repackaged or closely derivative version of ORWO N74 Plus, a German motion-picture panchromatic stock. Lomography reformulated it in 2019 to deliver smoother gradients, finer grain, and richer tonality. The film features high silver content for broad tonal range and impressive shadow detail, with exposure latitude extending from box speed up to EI 3200 via push processing. Its cine DNA brings cinematic character—notably pronounced grain at higher push levels and strong contrast that evokes New German Cinema. Processed in standard black-and-white chemistry; recommended developers include Kodak D-76 and Ilford ID-11.
