Toyo (originally Sakai Special Camera Manufacturing Co.) entered the LF market in the 1950s. The 45A (1981) is a refinement of earlier Toyo Field models. Variants: 45A-II (1990s, refined). Production ran until 2010.
For 2026 buyers, the Toyo 45A is one of the most-affordable substantial 4×5 field cameras. Used at $800–1,500 — half the price of a Master Technika. Same Linhof Technika lensboards mean lens compatibility with existing systems.
Linhof Technika lensboards. Same lens compatibility as Master Technika / Wista SP / Chamonix. Roll-film backs, Polaroid backs.
