The Fuji GSW690 III (1992) is the wide-angle 6×9 sibling of the standard-lens GW690 III. Body and form factor are nearly identical to the GW690 III, but with an **8-element Fujinon SW 65mm f/5.6** lens (≈28mm full-frame equivalent). Same Copal leaf shutter, same lack of meter, same lack of battery. Designed for landscape and architectural work where you want the largest possible negative with maximum field of view.

Fuji's GSW690 line started 1980 with the original wide-angle 6×9. Iterations: GSW690 → GSW690 II → GSW690 III. Production of the III ran 11 years until 2003 alongside the rest of the GW/GSW line.
For landscape photographers who want both maximum negative and wide-angle perspective on a single body, the GSW690 III is the canonical choice. The 65mm Fujinon SW is genuinely sharp from f/8 onward, with low distortion — ideal for architecture and landscape. The 6×9 negative scans to ~150 megapixels at high resolution.
For 2026 buyers, used GSW690 III prices have stayed stable around $1,300–2,200. Prized over the GW670 III when you specifically want the wider angle and 6×9 format.
Lens fixed. 67mm filter thread.
