Shanghai Colour 400, also known as Shenguang 400 (申光400), was released to market in May 2024 by Shanghai Jiancheng Technology Co. Ltd (SHJC), the same company that produces the GP3 black-and-white film. The film is aimed at general-purpose daylight and low-light colour photography. It promises accurate colour reproduction, high saturation, and wide exposure latitude. Early users report it is best rated at ISO 200 for optimal results. The emulsion's exact origin has been debated — some suggest a connection to ORWO Wolfen NC400, though the edge printing reads 'Shenguang' and the base is reportedly a distinctive yellow-green, suggesting an independent proprietary emulsion. Available in 35mm 36-exposure rolls.
