The Arca-Swiss line traces back to 1949 (the company has been making LF cameras and tripod heads since then). The F-Line (1984) is the modern monorail iteration. Variants:
Production continues 2026 — Arca-Swiss is one of very few LF camera makers still actively producing.
For 2026 buyers entering premium studio LF, the Arca-Swiss F-Line is the gold standard. Used at $2,500–4,500 — pricier than Sinar F2 but with refined movements and the prestige of Swiss/French build. The metric-scale movements are particularly useful for repeatable work (architectural, product, fine art).
For new buyers, $6,500 buys a complete F-Line system — expensive but built for decades of use.
Arca-Swiss native lensboards or Linhof Technika via adapter. Standard LF lens lineup. Roll-film backs, Polaroid backs, ground-glass.
