The Ricoh KR-5 (1979) is a budget mechanical Pentax K-mount SLR built by Cosina under Ricoh branding. Same chassis as the Cosina CS-1 and other rebadged Cosina bodies. Mechanical horizontal-cloth shutter to 1/1000s, TTL CdS metering, manual exposure. Variants: **KR-5** (original), **KR-5 Super II** (1990s), **KR-5 III** (refined). Production ran 13 years.

Released 1979 as Ricoh's K-mount entry. Production ran 13 years across multiple variants. Ricoh exited the SLR market in the late 90s after Pentax-K and proprietary K-compatible lens lines.
For 2026 buyers, the KR-5 is one of many functionally identical Cosina-built K-mount budget SLRs. Used at $50–150. Identical to Cosina CS-1 / Vivitar V3000 / Nikon FM10 chassis with K mount.
