The Kyocera Slim T is an ultra-thin 35mm autofocus compact introduced around 1995, carrying a Carl Zeiss Tessar T* fixed lens in one of the slimmest bodies Kyocera produced under its own name. Where the Yashica T4 and T5 were slightly thicker weatherproof constructions, the Slim T prioritized body thinness, making it a pocketable alternative to the Contax T2 at a substantially lower price. Kyocera operated the Yashica and Contax brands simultaneously, and the Slim T sits between those tiers.

Kyocera produced cameras under three concurrent brand identities in the mid-1990s: Contax at the premium end, Yashica in the mid-market, and its own Kyocera label for specific models. The Slim T was marketed under the Kyocera name rather than Yashica, positioning it as a distinct ultra-thin form-factor product rather than a T-series variant. The exact relationship to the Yashica T-line in terms of shared components is not fully documented in public sources.
The Slim T is of interest primarily as a less-expensive and less-collected alternative to the Contax T2 for buyers who want Zeiss glass in a slim body. The T2 commands prices that reflect its cult status; the Slim T achieves a similar form factor and the same Tessar lineage at a fraction of the cost. It is obscure enough that pricing remains relatively suppressed on the used market, which is its main practical advantage today.
