The Seagull 4A (1968) is a Chinese 6×6 TLR made in Shanghai by SOMC (Seagull Optical Camera Co.). Direct design lineage from the Rolleicord. **Seagull 75mm f/3.5** four-element Tessar-equivalent taking lens, leaf shutter, mechanical operation. Multiple variants over the 50+ year production run; the **4A-109** is currently produced and sold for around $250 new.

Released 1968 by Seagull (China). Production has continued through multiple variants and political eras. Seagull is one of the few remaining TLR makers in 2026; the 4A-109 is currently produced for the small-volume modern TLR market.
For 2026 buyers wanting a new TLR (not used), the Seagull 4A-109 at $250 is one of very few options. Build quality is consistent if not premium; the Tessar-equivalent lens is competent. Used Seagull 4A bodies (older variants) run $80–250.
