The Yashica TL Electro X (1968) is Yashica's M42-mount SLR. **First SLR with red/green LED arrow meter display** in the viewfinder — predating the more-famous Fujica ST801 (1972) by 4 years. Mechanical horizontal-cloth shutter to 1/1000s, TTL stop-down CdS metering, manual exposure. Yashinon DS lens compatibility (Yashica's M42 lens line).

Released 1968 as Yashica's M42 SLR refresh. Production ran 4 years. Yashica subsequently moved to the Contax/Yashica (C/Y) mount with the FX-1 (1975) and the Contax RTS partnership (1975).
The TL Electro X's LED meter display was a 1968 innovation that predated most competitors. For 2026 buyers, it's a curio M42 body at $80–200 used. The Yashinon DS lenses are competent (similar to Carl Zeiss-Jena Tessar quality).
