The Olympus OM-2 SP (1984) is the late-period OM-2 with two key additions: **programmed AE** and **switchable spot/center-weighted metering**. Same OM-2 OTF metering, same body, same OM mount — but adds the program mode that became standard on later 80s SLRs and a single-point spot meter (vs the OM-4's eight-point multi-spot averaging).

Released 1984 alongside the OM-4. Production ran 4 years until 1988. The OM-2 SP was Olympus's "lower-tier multi-mode OM" — program mode + spot meter at less than OM-4 prices.
For 2026 buyers, the OM-2 SP is between the OM-2n (basic AE) and OM-4 (multi-spot). Used at $200–450. Spot metering is genuinely useful for tricky lighting; program mode is convenient for snapshots. Trade-off vs OM-4: single spot meter only (vs OM-4's 8-point averaging).
Same OM Zuiko system.
