Miranda began with the Phoenix (1955) — Japan's first eye-level SLR. The DR (1962) was a refined later-period body. Miranda produced multiple models through the 1970s before closing 1976. The Miranda mount was orphaned.
For 2026 buyers, Miranda is a curio brand. Used DR at $80–200. Front-mounted shutter button is distinctive. Trade-off: orphaned mount (Miranda-specific lenses scarce); service essentially nonexistent.
Miranda mount: Auto Miranda lenses (50/1.4, 50/1.9, 35/2.8). Adapters allow some M42 lens use.
