Released 1963 to compete with the Olympus Pen EE in the half-frame market. Production ran 6 years through multiple variants. Canon's Demi line never matched Olympus Pen sales but produced a respectable competitor body.
For 2026 half-frame collectors, the Demi is the Canon alternative to the more-common Olympus Pens. Used at $70–200, comparable pricing to Pen EE-2/EE-3. The Demi C variant (interchangeable lens) is rare and pricey if you encounter one.
Lens fixed (except Demi C). Standard hot-shoe flashes.
