The Agfa Optima Sensor line started 1968 with the Optima Sensor. The 1535 (1976) is the rangefinder-equipped variant; the 1035 (1976) is a similar body without rangefinder. Production ran 5 years until 1981 when Agfa exited the camera business.
For 2026 buyers, the Optima 1535 is a quirky German compact at modest used prices ($60–180). The oversized red shutter button is the camera's signature. The Solitar 40/2.8 is competent but not exceptional. The programmed-only exposure limits creative control.
