The Lomography SuperSampler (2000) is a 35mm toy camera featuring four fixed-focus plastic lenses arranged in a horizontal line across the length of the body. Pressing the shutter fires all four lenses in left-to-right sequence, with each lens capturing a narrow sub-frame — the four images together span the full width of a standard 35mm frame (24mm tall, divided into four ~9mm-wide strips), producing a panoramic sequence strip.

The SuperSampler was introduced in 2000 as Lomography's second multi-lens sequential camera, following the ActionSampler (1999). Where the ActionSampler used a 2×2 grid for quick action capture, the SuperSampler was designed around panoramic landscape and time-lapse applications, with the horizontal strip format lending itself to sweeping scenes, horizon-line compositions, and slow-motion time studies.
The timing mode dial — offering 0.2s to 5s between exposures — was the key innovation over the ActionSampler. At 5 seconds, the camera becomes a slow-motion sampler capable of showing movement and change on a human rather than action timescale. A SuperSampler Flash variant with built-in flash was later introduced.
The camera remains available in Lomography's catalog as of 2026.
The SuperSampler offers a different temporal vocabulary from the ActionSampler. The panoramic strip format and adjustable timing enable narrative sequences — a person walking toward camera over 5 seconds, a sunset moving through 2 seconds, a crowd shifting over 0.5 seconds. The camera is simple to use and produces a distinctive panoramic-strip image format not easily replicated with standard cameras.
Four fixed plastic lenses in a horizontal row; none interchangeable. A SuperSampler Flash variant includes a built-in flash. Accessories: Lomography strap and soft case. The camera accepts 35mm film cassettes via standard loading.
